MISSIONS
Our Mission Minded Congregation Supports
Ray of Hope
Our congregation has sponsored a small Orphanage in Mombasa, Kenya since 2011. The Mission team of the CeCe and Michael Tesch has done some incredible and meaningful work with the under privileged in Africa. We support the orphanage through direct contact and fund raising as well as through the Board of World Mission of the Moravian Church.
Ahuas Clinic – Honduras
For the past 13 years the church has sponsored Dr. DDS Scott and Lorrigan Booth on their short term mission trip to the Ahuas Clinic – a remote site in the “bush land” of Honduras. What started as a dental mission as morphed into other areas of positive outreach and mission as well. The team goes once a year.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
This group of dedicated crafters meet once a month creating beautiful prayer shawls. The shawls are given to those in need for God’s comforting presence. You can always join these knitting and crocheting crafters that share their talents to be given to others.
Sole Purpose
Beginning in 2012, this youth led organization has had one united purpose: putting new shoes on every economically challenged children in the county. Through a series of fund raising the group raising money each year to accomplish this herculean task. Since 2012 these young missionaries have spent close to $38,000 and distributed over 1,800 $20.00 shoe vouchers in our county and beyond. They have reached into 12 school districts with this shoe mission.
The 2019 Sole Purpose team lived up to their mission statement: “Putting shoes on kid’s feet”. Through a series of fund raising the group raises enough money each year to accomplish this herculean task. They distributed $30.00 vouchers to 565 kids. Thus spending around $17,000 for the care of this counties children. That’s mission-minded work! In addition the team is sponsoring the annual “Sock Market. Distributing socks to kids that need them.
We hope that you will support this project.
