Worship with Us

Our 8 a.m. Early Service is a smaller setting where Christians gather for worship which includes Moravian Liturgy, Hymns, Prayer, the Word, and an uplifting message for the week all nestled around a piano – creating a most peaceful, reflective and personal experience. Our 10:30 a.m. Worship Service is a delightful, classical worship using Moravian Liturgy, Hymns, Full Choir, Full Organ, the Word, Prayer, “Children’s Moment”, and a practical, uplifting message.  This service includes a lot of active and participatory worship.

Who we are

First Moravian Church of Dover is a Protestant Church located on the corner of North Walnut and Fourth Street in Dover, Ohio. Our church family brings a personal touch to your spiritual journey with Jesus Christ as we reach out to our neighbors near and far. Our mission minded focus remains at the heart of our existence. We have served this community since 1842 and remain a landmark in our downtown center.

Our Purpose

We value welcoming and caring for all in our community. Our church opens its arms to those who seek God’s love and its doors to groups seeking a safe place to meet. We seek to offer welcome in God’s name, living by the Moravian motto: In Essentials, Unity, in Non-Essentials, Liberty, in All Things, Love.

Our Mission

We depict our congregation’s attitude in our simple mission statement: LOVE L – Lead all people to Jesus Christ O – Obey God’s commands V – Value and nurture spiritual growth E – Encourage Christian Service

Our Motto

Where the spirit of the Moravian Church is expressed in our Motto: “Our lamb has conquered, let us follow Him.”

Dover First Moravian is a group of loving people who worship God in a traditional setting on Sundays and live their faith the rest of the week through good deeds and actions. Youth are nurtured and cherished as the members of tomorrow, and elders are equally valued and provide support for anyone who needs it. The wide variety of activities and groups offers “something for everyone” with a healthy dose of fellowship, friendship and fun. Dover First is happy to continue the Moravian Church’s tradition of welcoming all who enter its doors!   Jeannie
