Worship with Us

Our 8 a.m. Early Service is a smaller setting where Christians gather for worship which includes Moravian Liturgy, Hymns, Prayer, the Word, and an uplifting message for the week all nestled around a piano – creating a most peaceful, reflective and personal experience. Our 10:30 a.m. Worship Service is a delightful, classical worship using Moravian Liturgy, Hymns, Full Choir, Full Organ, the Word, Prayer, “Children’s Moment”, and a practical, uplifting message.  This service includes a lot of active and participatory worship.

Who we are

First Moravian Church of Dover is a Protestant Church located on the corner of North Walnut and Fourth Street in Dover, Ohio. Our church family brings a personal touch to your spiritual journey with Jesus Christ as we reach out to our neighbors near and far. Our mission minded focus remains at the heart of our existence. We have served this community since 1842 and remain a landmark in our downtown center.

Our Purpose

We value welcoming and caring for all in our community. Our church opens its arms to those who seek God’s love and its doors to groups seeking a safe place to meet. We seek to offer welcome in God’s name, living by the Moravian motto: In Essentials, Unity, in Non-Essentials, Liberty, in All Things, Love.

September ~ We will return to two worship services
September 1 ~ Worship at 8:00 & 10:30 a.m.
 September 8 ~ Worship Sunday School will start at 9:15 a.m. for all ages.

Ministry Opportunities

We are looking for individuals willing to do cooking, crafts and science with the 1st thru 5th graders.

We also need someone who would help lead the Middle School Sunday School with a current teacher. Please contact Kim our CE director if interested.

We invite members and friends of the congregation to participate in our music program beginning Wednesday September 4th.

Our Mission and Outreach Opportunities

 Community Soup & Sandwich Luncheons   Our first Soup & Sandwich Luncheon will be Friday, September 6, from 11:00-1:00 p.m.in the Social Hall.

Sugar Cake Baking Begins! 

Tues., Sept. 17 and Wed., Sept. 18  Price $5.00 each 

Sugar Cakes are sold seven times a year by the Moravian Women to help continue their mission of  making a difference in the lives of God’s people here and abroad.  

Help Is Needed!

 “Layettes of Love” is a ministry, under the direction of The Unity Women’s Desk, that provides a packet of baby supplies to each new mother who delivers her baby in the Ahuas Clinic in Honduras.

Change Can Make a Difference   
Our next “Change Can Make a Difference” offering  will be on Sunday, Sept. 22.  This joyful noise offering  is to help the local Dover/New Philadelphia Food Pantry.   So start saving your change and dollar bills!

Dover First Moravian is a group of loving people who worship God in a traditional setting on Sundays and live their faith the rest of the week through good deeds and actions. Youth are nurtured and cherished as the members of tomorrow, and elders are equally valued and provide support for anyone who needs it. The wide variety of activities and groups offers “something for everyone” with a healthy dose of fellowship, friendship and fun.
