Worship with Us

Our 8 a.m. Early Service is a smaller setting where Christians gather for worship which includes Moravian Liturgy, Hymns, Prayer, the Word, and an uplifting message for the week all nestled around a piano – creating a most peaceful, reflective and personal experience. Our 10:30 a.m. Worship Service is a delightful, classical worship using Moravian Liturgy, Hymns, Full Choir, Full Organ, the Word, Prayer, “Children’s Moment”, and a practical, uplifting message.  This service includes a lot of active and participatory worship.

Who we are

First Moravian Church of Dover is a Protestant Church located on the corner of North Walnut and Fourth Street in Dover, Ohio. Our church family brings a personal touch to your spiritual journey with Jesus Christ as we reach out to our neighbors near and far. Our mission minded focus remains at the heart of our existence. We have served this community since 1842 and remain a landmark in our downtown center.

Our Purpose

We value welcoming and caring for all in our community. Our church opens its arms to those who seek God’s love and its doors to groups seeking a safe place to meet. We seek to offer welcome in God’s name, living by the Moravian motto: In Essentials, Unity, in Non-Essentials, Liberty, in All Things, Love.

VBS 2019 – June 17-21 ~ Reduce, Reuse, Recycle & Rejoice!!!  Our shack has turned into a Recycling Center this year! You’ll find it in the lobby with our donation  posters and the registration form to sign up to help or attend VBS.  T-shirts and Music CD’s will be available:  $6 for a T-shirt, or $8 for a T-shirt and CD! 

2019 Summer Camp Dates  Paperwork is available on the lobby bulletin board. Please turn your paperwork in early!  

Camp Tar Hollow (Completed 7th grade – age 21) July 21-27 Member $62.50 Non-member $125 Staff Day ~ Saturday, July 20 Paperwork is due in the church office  by Sunday, June 16.

 Camp Bethany (Completed 2nd grade – 6th) August 5-9 Member $42.50 Non-member $85 Staff Day ~ Sunday, August 4 Paperwork is due in the church office  by Sunday, July 7. 

Moravian Sidewalk Star

Help the 2019 Ohio Moravian Convo Young Adults in “Exploring Moravian Mission Roots!”
We will come and spray paint a handmade Moravian Star Stencil on your sidewalk or driveway.

1 for $15 or 2 for $20  Paint comes in White or Blue

                  Painting is scheduled for Saturday June 8th.  Make up day is June 9th.
Please sign up in the church office.

     Payment at time of order. All checks need to be made to OMMC.  Deadline to order is June 2.

Dover First Moravian is a group of loving people who worship God in a traditional setting on Sundays and live their faith the rest of the week through good deeds and actions. Youth are nurtured and cherished as the members of tomorrow, and elders are equally valued and provide support for anyone who needs it. The wide variety of activities and groups offers “something for everyone” with a healthy dose of fellowship, friendship and fun.
